Trustees

He Tangata Funding

The purpose of this “He Tangata” fund is to assist and support individuals that participate in activities or studies that exclusively benefit Te Aupōuri community and all the Members of Te Aupōuri irrespective of where those Members reside and shall without limitation include the promotion amongst Te Aupōuri of the educational, spiritual, economic, social and cultural advancement or well-being of Te Aupōuri including the promotion of Te Reo and tikanga of Te Aupōuri.

In acknowledgement of the commitment it takes to pursue higher level tertiary study, TAIDT has introduced a higher-level education funding amount under the He Tangata Funding stream. This aligns to the strategic priority of ‘Pūkenga Rau – Highly skilled iwi members’ and the aspirations the Rūnanga seeks to achieve in the tertiary education sector.

All He Tangata applications will be assessed every July and January. Applications must be received by 30th 0f June and the 31st of December.

Toa Takitini & Kaupapa Aronui Funding

The “Toa Takitini” fund is aimed at supporting groups of registered iwi members to participate in their activities, and the “Kaupapa Aronui” fund is designed to support iwi registered members and/or groups of registered members to facilitate targeted projects.

All Kaupapa Aronui funding will be allocated in accordance with the TAIDT plan and will be assessed on a case-by case basis, as and when received. The aim is to encourage and empower our own members to organise and facilitate
events that will benefit the wider tribe. There are FOUR (4) strategic priority areas for Kaupapa Aronui, all of which have Key Focus Areas that we want to promote. You can find these in the Funding Distribution Policy – 2021

Te Aupōuri Iwi Development Trust (TAIDT) invites Te Aupōuri groups to fill in the  Toa Takitini & Kaupapa Aronui Registration Form to be notified of and eligible to apply for financial assistance through both the Toa Takitini and the Kaupapa Aronui funds.

All Toa Takitini applications will be assessed every April and October. Applications must be received by the TAIDT no later than the 31st March and 30th of September.
